SHELTER
COMPANY MAKES A NAME IN THE MARINE INDUSTRY
With
the ability to supply clear span temporary structures up to
150' wide, Poly-Steel and Weather Block Shelters has established
a worldwide reputation for providing durable alternatives
to traditional buildings. The shelters boast long life, low
cost and portability, making them a perfect choice for boatyards
seeking weather protection, containment or storage solutions.
Established
in 1979, the successful company was purchased from avid boater
Stanley Huddleston in January 2003 by Patty and Charly Smail.
"We've known Stanley for 10 years, and watched the business
grow. We have a lot of new ideas, ranging from design innovation
to new marketing opportunities, all geared to improve our
product and service to the customer. We bring a lot of business
and engineering experience to the table, and are excited about
the future."
Constructed
of galvanized steel frames covered with reinforced vinyl fabric,
the shelter frames have an 80 year lifespan, while the covers
last from 5-25 years, depending on the fabric. The shelters
are manufactured in components and assembled on the customer's
site. And, they are usually delivered in 4-6 weeks.
Small
shelters can be assembled in hours, and larger units can be
erected in just a few days. Building permits are usually not
required.
